Villa Chile, Competa is approximately one hour's drive from Malaga airport and you have a variety of choices of how to make your way there.

Car Hire

Most people prefer the convenience of a hired car when holidaying in Andalucia. The cost of hiring a car varies from season to season and company to company.

Mini Bus/Shuttle

If you are travelling in a group, or looking to share the expenses of being driven to Villa Chile then a mini-bus/shuttle is a good choice for you - Malaga cars is worth checking out.

Public Bus Service

If you dont mind waiting around for a bit and you are travelling light, catching a bus is an economical option to get from the airport to Competa and Villa Chile. You need to be aware that you will need to change buses at Malaga Central Station

Every 15 minutes bus number 19 runs from Malaga Airport to the Central Bus Station in Malaga and visa versa. The fare is €2 each way.

From Malaga Central there are frequent daily services to and from Competa and the fare in either direction is €5. Therefore, all up from the airport to Villa Chile, Competa you are looking at €7 per person.

Getting a taxi at Malaga Airport

If you are not up to hiring a car and driving, and you dont wish to share a mini-bus/shuttle or catch public buses, then you can always go in style and hire a taxi at the airport.

Taxis are located outside the arrivals hall of T3.

They are easy to spot white vehicles, which almost always have an orange "taxi" sign on the roof, which is lit up when they are available to hire. Some Spanish taxis run on a meter and some still have a book which lists the set fares to certain areas. Fares vary, so check them out at Malaga Airport Taxis.

NB - The cost of hiring a local taxi in Competa to Malaga varies from €80 to €100 depending on what you can negotiate with local drivers.

Competa Car Hire

There are no Car Hire facilities in Competa, however you have quite a choice in Torrox or Nerja. Please click here for a Google Map and directions to Car Hire services near Cómpeta.

Competa Bus Service

The bus stop in Competa can be found at the entrance to the village, opposite Bar Marcos.

The bus actually leaves from Canillas de Albaida and after an 8 minute drive arrives in Competa. It is the same bus mentioned above under the heading "Competa - Malaga Bus Timetable".

From Competa it travels to Sayalonga, Algarrobo, Torre del Mar and terminates in Málaga at the Estacion de Muelle bus station. In total the journey from Cannilllas de Albaida to Málaga bus station takes approximately 2 hours.

Passengers are free to get on and off the bus at any stop along the route and those wishing to travel to Torrox or Nerja must change at Algarrobo.
